 Infant circumcision is simple procedure and takes about 15 minutes and virtually pain free.

The optimal age for baby circumcision at our clinic is 1-4 weeks but we are happy to perform the procedure on babies up to the age of 8 weeks or older.

This is the best time to perform a circumcision and carries the minimum pain, fast recover, least expense and  minimal risks when done by circumcision specialists and experienced doctors.

We recommend the Plastibell technique as the most clinically appropriate and least painful method of circumcision for infants and toddlers.

Plastibell Technique

The Plastibell circumcision device is a clear, lightweight plastic in the shape of a bell with an attached handle.  It comes in various sizes to fit newborns and infants.

The Plastibell is placed between the foreskin and glans of the penis. The Plastibell is tied off and the excess skin is removed. This is performed under local anaesthesia which involves giving local anaesthetic injections at the base of the Penis. No stitching or dressing is necessary. After 3-7 days, the Plastibell becomes detached by itself, leaving a clean healed cut at the tie-line.

Your baby will be observed for a further 15 minutes in our clinic. The Plastibell procedure is virtually pain-free. it is carried out under local anaesthetic and needs no stitching, dressing, and stitch removal, which may be needed by other methods of circumcision.

After-care is usually limited to applying Vaseline, Betadine, and saltwater bathing. Post-operation trauma is minimal, and over 99% of patients have no need for a return visit to the clinic after the procedure.
