Vasectomy Procedure

Due to the simplicity of the surgery, a vasectomy usually takes less than 20 minutes to complete.

The No-Scalpel Advantage

Our no-scalpel vasectomy is a minimally invasive technique with no stitches and minimal discomfort. Using a specialised instrument, the doctor creates a tiny opening to access the vas deferens tubes. This reduces bleeding, infection, scarring, and recovery time.

The procedure is safely performed in our clinic under local anaesthetic, allowing you to return home the same day.

A small amount of local anaesthetic is placed into the scrotal skin and around the tubes, causing only a brief sting before the area becomes numb. There are no injections into the testes or penis.

Using a tiny 2–4 mm keyhole opening, the specialist carefully seals the tubes with minimal scarring

How it works?

A vasectomy is performed in preventing the passage of sperm along the spermatic cord. This is done by picking up the vas which is located mostly just under the scrotal skin, and cutting the tube. Ends can be left open with fascia opposition but in most cases, the ends are tied with surgical stitches and the ends sealed with heat which studies show increases effectiveness. The two new ends are then positioned away from each other and a small piece of tissue positioned over one of the ends to discourage rejoining. This is called fascia apposition. After the procedure, the vas is then released into the scrotum.

Your testosterone levels will also remain the same, so that your hair distribution, the pitch of your voice, your overall strength, and your sexual drive will not change.

Because the procedure is minimally invasive, many vasectomy patients find that they can return to work within 2 or 3 days and resume their typical lifestyle routines within a week, and do so with minimal discomfort.
